Global Korea Scholarship GKS University List 2022

Maybe you are one of those looking forward to these 2022 Korean Government Scholarships. Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) or Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP). This time, the GKS/KGSP scholarship is intended for high school graduates/equivalent who wish to pursue diploma or undergraduate studies at Korean universities. Full scholarships are provided to cover the needs while studying in Korea.

Education lasts about two to three years for a diploma (associate degree) and four to six years for a bachelor’s degree. Plus will undergo a Korean language course about a year before the lecture. So the total duration is around 3 or 4 years for diploma and 5 to 7 years for S1.

Especially for Indonesian applicants, there are three types of KGSP 2022 scholarships that can be applied for. Namely diploma scholarships (equivalent to D2), special undergraduate scholarships majoring in natural science and engineering via regional universities in Korea, and undergraduate scholarships via the Korean Embassy in Jakarta.

Diploma scholarships (associate degree) provides a quota of 35 scholarships and is open to 17 ODA member countries. Of the total quota of diploma scholarships, Indonesia gets 2 scholarship seats. Furthermore, special undergraduate scholarships majoring in natural science and engineering via Korean regional universities are available for 60 scholarship seats in total for 72 countries. In the undergraduate scholarship category via this university, Indonesia got 3 scholarship seats. Applications for both types of scholarships are submitted directly to universities in Korea.

The last scholarship is S1 via the Korean Embassy. A total of 115 seats are provided for scholarships which are divided into 67 countries. Specifically for Indonesia, there are 5 scholarship seats available through the Korean Embassy. Registration is through the Korean Embassy in Jakarta. So, the overall quota for the 2022 KGSP scholarships for Indonesian applicants from the three categories above is 10 scholarship seats.

In addition to being covered for full educational costs during the study period, a Korean language course fee is also provided for 1 year, then a monthly living allowance of 900 thousand won, an arrival allowance of 200 thousand won, a return allowance of 100 thousand won, health insurance, and of course a plane ticket to Korea and return home after completing their studies. Interestingly, this 2022 Korea scholarship also provides an additional allowance of 100 thousand won per month during college if you have a TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) score of level 5 or 6 after enrolling in a Korean university.
